AAUW is a community that breaks through educational and economic barriers so that all women have a fair chance. Your membership makes AAUW’s powerful voice even stronger on critical issues affecting women and girls.
Membership is open to anyone holding an associate or equivalent (RN), baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Student Affiliation is open to anyone who does not already hold an undergraduate degree and are enrolled in a two-or four-year regionally accredited educational institution.
AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.
Branch Membership
AAUW branches are groups of local AAUW members working together in their communities for the greater good of women and girls. This network of nearly 1,000 branches across the US, including Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, and Puerto Rico, are the heart of the organization.
What do branch members do?
In addition to national opportunities offered to all AAUW members, branch members enjoy networking at the local level, serving in local and state leadership roles, sponsoring community action projects, and lobbying on AAUW priority issues. AAUW Crystal Lake Area branch members also are members of AAUW Illinois and the AAUW national organization.
New or Dual Members
Join online at AAUW National website. You’ll start by creating an account. Follow screen prompts to complete membership, including selecting the Crystal Lake Area (IL) Branch as your home branch.
Join by mail. Print and complete the Membership form. Mail the form with your check to the mailing address specified on the form.
National ($72) + State ($10) + Branch ($12) = $94 total
($69 of your national dues is tax-deductible.)
Dual members, who already belong to another Illinois branch, may add Crystal Lake Area as an additional branch and pay only branch dues ($12). Use the online or mail process above to add Crystal Lake Area membership.
Student members may join at special rates. Association ($18.81) + State ($3) = $21.81
($16.81 of your national dues is tax-deductible.)
Renewing Members
AAUW maintains membership records in the Member Services Database (MSD). Login to renew your membership, see your status and update your contact information.
NOTE: Life Members only pay the Branch dues when renewing.
